Here at Hidden Heart Basset Hounds, we are a family of four located on 2 acres of land in rural Northwest Pennsylvania. Our hounds live in our home and have unlimited access to an acre of yard. Our goal is to breed and raise quality hounds. Our two children are active with our hounds and all of the hounds are great with them. When you get a hound from Hidden Heart, you can be assured they are from a family full of love and dedication to their well-being.
To reserve a puppy, a $500 non-refundable deposit secures the preferred sex and is deducted from the total purchase price.
Puppy picking is made once puppies reach 5 weeks of age. You will have 24 hours to make your pick. *We always reserve the right to hold back potential "keepers" from any litter. * Picking will be made via pictures, video, or Facetime, whichever you prefer. In the event there is not a puppy you like when it's your turn to pick, you may pass and move your non-refundable deposit to a future litter. Deposits can be moved to a future litter up to two (2) times. If you have not picked a puppy after 2 litters your deposit is considered forfeited.
Deposits can be paid by cash, check, or Zelle. Please understand that we reserve the right to return a deposit at any time if we feel it is no longer in the puppy’s best interest to be placed with the buyer. The remaining balance is due in cash at pickup. For those utilizing a flight nanny, the remaining balance must be paid is full by 6 weeks of age and must be sent by Cashier Check, Money Wire, or Zelle.
Puppies leave for their new homes at 9 weeks of age. Please make arrangement to pick up your puppy as soon as possible to ensure you get the day/time you prefer. I will try my best to work with everyone’s schedules. For families not local to us, we do offer to meet at Pittsburgh Airport or we can provide contact information for Flight Nannie’s we have personally used. Please contact us for details.
All our puppies are dewormed, microchipped, vet checked, and have age-appropriate vaccines. They will come with AKC limited registration paperwork, 30 days of insurance through Trupanion, a toy, and a small bag of food.
For the safety of our puppies and adult dogs, we do NOT allow in-person visits or picking. I am more than happy to Facetime/video call you to show the parents and where the puppies are raised.
